Reasons For Poor Performance of Punjab Kings in Ipl 2022||PBKS

 There are plenty of reasons for bad performance of Punjab Kings in this year’s IPL. The team which is filled with explosive batsmen, how didn’t even managed to qualify for playoffs, we will discuss about it in this article. Poor auction strategy: One of the main reason for bad performance is their poor auction strategy. As they focussed too much on batting and paid less attention to their bowling unit. They managed to pick up explosive batsmen in the auction but was not able to pick quality bowlers as a result , no matter how much good the batters bat, the bowlers ended up giving huge runs which cost them many crucial matches. Balance is very necessary while building a squad but Punjab Kings failed to do so.

Mayank Aggarwal’s poor performance with bat: Mayank Aggarwal as a captain was quiet good this season but as a batsman he struggled very much. In 13 matches he managed to score only 196 runs with an average of 16.33 which is very poor as per his ability. Maybe the poor performance was due to the pressure of captaincy as it was his first time as captain of Punjab kings, whatever maybe the reason, but his poor performance with bat cause huge problems for Punjab King’s.

So what Punjab Kings can do in next year’s mini auction to perform better than this season?

First of all they need to buy good bowlers , they need to buy a well balanced bowling unit containing both quality spinners and fast bowlers. The team management also need to look into the matter of captaincy. If Mayank Aggarwal is unable to manage both captaincy  and batting then they should think about another captain  so that Mayank could be able to play his original game.
