What group should I take in 11th for engineering professor?

Engineering is a very reputed and well known degree or course specially in India, where most of the parents want their children to become either engineer or doctor. So there are huge numbers of engineering colleges present in India. As colleges are there obviously they would be requiring professors to teach in those colleges, also there is a huge demand of quality engineering professors in India. So aspiring to become a professor in engineering colleges is a very good decision.

Well if you are aspiring to become a professor in an engineering college, Then you have to definitely opt for science stream in your 11^th and 12^th as in order to pursue engineering science stream is a must. After pursuing your bachelors in engineering which is a four year course, you need to go for masters as the minimum qualification required to be an engineering professor is having masters in engineering which is a two year course. But you need to keep in mind that if you are willing to become a professor of  reputed engineering colleges like IITs or NITs then doing masters alone would not be sufficient. Then you have to go for PHD which stands for “Doctor of Philosophy”. Now PHD doesn’t have any fix duration as it is a research based degree but on an average it takes five years. Apart from having these degrees one must have clear concept and knowledge of the subject in which the person has done specialization.
