CAT vs GATE Comparison and which one will be better for you?

Every student especially engineering graduates after completion of their graduation gets  into the dilemma, that what to do next. The most common two options they used to have is either appear for CAT or GATE, but they get confused that which one is better for them and their career, so in this article we will make a comparison between these two exams and will see which one is better.



GATE:

“GATE” stands for general aptitude test in engineering. It is an exam which is conducted by various IITs in India for admission in M.Tech program and also for jobs in public sector companies. The syllabus of GATE mainly consists of all the topics covered in the bachelor degree of engineering, and changes according to the branches, for civil it would be different, for electrical it would be different and so on. The exam is quiet tough to crack and requires a lot of hard work. The top scorers of GATE exam also get job offers from top public sector companies like GAIL, ONGC etc. So GATE has multiple benefits. After completing M.Tech the students get high salaried packages in various companies and also those who opt for not pursuing M.Tech and going for public sector jobs also gets high salaried jobs. Those who want to continue with technical field after engineering, GATE will be good for them.

CAT:

“CAT” stands for common aptitude test, it is a test which is conducted by various IIMs for admission in MBA program. The syllabus of the exam consists of three sections Quant, verbal and DILR. The exam is quiet tough to crack. The candidates who qualifies in CAT exam gets opportunity to pursue their MBA from IIMs which is a two year course and after that they get high paying jobs in various companies. So in case of CAT no direct job opportunity is there, a student has to pursue a two year MBA and after that he or she will
